v 16 ... to show you my power, and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth,
2. What did the people do who believed Moses’ warning to Pharaoh about the plague of hail?
v 20 Those who feared the LORD’s word amongst the servants of Pharaoh made their servants and their livestock flee into the houses.
3. Why did Moses know that Pharaoh would not let them go yet, even though he confessed that he had sinned?
v 30 ... I know that you don’t yet fear the LORD God."
Summary Points
- v 1 to 7 Pharaoh is threatened with a grievous pestilence starting the next day. The Israelites will not be affected. Pharaoh checks that the Israelites have not been affected, but still refuses to let them go
- v 8 to 12 Moses is to sprinkle ashes of the furnace towards the sky. The dust causes boils and blisters on all Egyptian men and animals
- v 13 to 17 Pharaoh is told that there will be plagues on everyone including Pharaoh himself if he still refuses to let the Israelites go. The LORD could have just destroyed them all, but he has chosen to show his power through Pharaoh's obstinacy
- v 18 to 26 Moses tells Pharaoh that the next day there will be very heavy hail. This gives the Egyptians who believe the LORD the opportunity to move their servants and livestock to safety
v 27 to 35 Pharaoh again refuses to let the Israelites go after the plague of hail ceases
