God's grace

A selection of verses showing what the Bible means by God's Grace:

Jesus Christ is full of grace and truth:

John 1 verse 14

14 The Word became flesh, and lived amongst us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Despite our sinfulness, we can be justified (made right) with God by His Grace:

Romans 3 verses 23 - 24

23 for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God; 24 being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus;

God shows grace to the humble:

James 4 verse 6

6 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

God's Grace is at the heart of His plan of salvation:

Romans 5 verse 21

21 that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Titus 2 verse 11

11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,

Ephesians 2 verse 8

8 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

James 4 verse 6

6 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

The apostle peter tells us that God's Grace will be shown when Jesus returns:

1 Peter 1 verse 13

13 Therefore prepare your minds for action. Be sober, and set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ—
